The Town of Prescott is governed by a Council of seven members - a mayor and six councillors. Council is elected at-large every four years. The current term of Council is from November 15, 2022, to November 14, 2026, with the next election scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. The new term of Council will commence on November 15, 2026, until November 14, 2030.
Council is the formal municipal decision-making body of the Town of Prescott. Decisions made by Council have a direct impact on the residents of Prescott. While Council oversees the municipal staff, operations, and services to ensure tax dollars are used effectively and efficiently, their main role is to lead the Town into the future through strategic planning and community development to create a safe, healthy, and economically vibrant community.
